- Winter vacations extended till Jan 17 in Summer Zone of Jammu Division
Jammu, Jan 14: The winter vacations in schools falling under the Summer Zone of the Jammu Division have been extended till January 17 in view of the prevailing cold wave and foggy weather conditions.
Officials said that all government and private schools in the Summer Zone will now reopen on Monday after the conclusion of the extended winter break. The decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of students amid low temperatures, dense morning fog, and harsh winter conditions.
Large parts of the Jammu region have been witnessing cold weather coupled with reduced visibility due to fog during early morning hours, affecting normal movement and daily activities.
The extension aims to provide relief to students, particularly young children, as weather conditions continue to remain severe in several areas of the division.
Authorities have advised schools to remain prepared for reopening once weather conditions stabilise and to follow necessary precautions for students.
