Budgam, Jan 21. A traffic enforcement drive was conducted at Narbal on the Gulmarg Road in Magam area of Budgam district to ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations and promote road safety among motorists.
The drive was supervised by SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir Ravinder Pal Singh and was attended by DySP Traffic Budgam Farooq Ahmad, along with officials of the Driving Training Institute Budgam, the District Officer Police Posts Narbal and personnel of Traffic Police Budgam.
Officials said a total of 119 challans were issued during the drive against traffic violators for various offences, including violation of traffic norms and unsafe driving practices.
Addressing motorists and locals, SSP Traffic Rural Ravinder Pal Singh emphasised the importance of road discipline and appealed to parents to ensure that minors do not drive vehicles. He urged citizens to strictly adhere to traffic rules to avoid accidents and ensure safer roads.
The SSP also appealed to tourists visiting Gulmarg to follow traffic regulations, drive responsibly and cooperate with traffic authorities to facilitate smooth traffic movement and reduce the risk of mishaps on the busy tourist route.
Traffic Police officials said such enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to enhance road safety and curb traffic-related violations across the district.
