Srinagar, Feb 13: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday apprehended a government employee in Bemina, Srinagar, in connection with an alleged bribery case.
Official sources said the accused was caught red-handed by ACB officials near Bemina Chowk and subsequently taken to the concerned police station to complete legal formalities.
A case has been registered at Police Station ACB under FIR No. 04/2026 under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Reports indicate that the accused allegedly demanded and accepted a bribe of ₹8,000 from a woman hailing from Sabdan area of Dooru in South Kashmir.
The identity of the accused was not immediately disclosed at the time of filing this report.
Further investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the alleged demand and acceptance of the bribe.
